Each beadlet of Smartamine™ contains a core of methionine that is protected by a unique coating developed by Adisseo.This innovative, patented technology guarantees that the amino acids in Smartamine™ are:
- protected in the rumen (>= 90%),
- released in the abomasum (>= 90%) before being absorbed in the small intestine and
- highly concentrated (>= 70% methionine), particularly compared to current feedstuffs (0 to 5% methionine, of which only a fraction is "rumen-protected").

Smartamine™ M is Adisseo's rumen-stable abomasum-dispersible methionine product, and is produced using a unique patented process.

Smartamine™ M contains a core of concentrated methionine protected by a pH-sensitive coating.

• CH3-S-(CH2)2-CH(NH2)-COOH

Patented pH-sensitive coating, containing a specific copolymer: poly (2-vinylpyridine-co-styrene)
