Storage for bags and Big Bags
Bags or Big Bags are emptied usually into the storage bin hopper.
Rhodimet™ NP 99 is then transported from the hopper to the
storage bin. To transfer the product, there are two common options:
- The use of a feeding screw (Æ 200 mm maximum)
- The use of a pneumatic conveying system (negative pressure)
In all cases, installing a dust aspiration system at the bin inlet
is recommended. Further on, it is necessary to implement procedures
to recover and recycle used bags.
Storage for bulk
Rhodimet™ NP 99 delivered bulk is usually discharged by air
pressure. Rhodimet™ NP 99 may be transferred to the storage
bin by a pneumatic conveying system (4" or 100 mm Ø).
DL-methionine is not hygroscopic. The bulk storage must be air-tight
to avoid problems of caking. In order to limit these problems, the
following equipment should be used:
- Metal bin (50-70 m3) with an asymmetrical hopper (60° slope
minimum),
- Dust collection system with explosion vent
- Upper level indicator
- Lower level indicator
